Hey Beautiful Mama ! Let’s Talk About Your Nourishment
Glow&Go is all about helping you feel strong, supported, and radiant in this new chapter of life. Whether you're breastfeeding, formula-feeding, or doing a mix of both, one thing is true for every mom: your body (and your mind!) deserves care.
After months of pregnancy and the huge transformation of childbirth, your body is in recovery mode.
You're adjusting to a whole new rhythm, often on very little sleep, and somehow expected to function like a superhero. So how do you keep your energy up, support your healing, and feel like yourself again without spending hours in the kitchen?
That’s where simple, nourishing food comes in.
Here are our favourite realistic, doable nutrition tips for all new moms designed to help you glow from the inside out, no matter what your days (and nights) look like.

Make Breakfast Count, Whenever It Happens
You may not be waking up at “breakfast time” these days, but starting your day with the right kind of fuel makes a big difference. Prioritise a mix of protein, healthy fats, and fiber to help keep your energy steady and your mood more balanced.
Easy ideas:
Whole grain toast with 100% almond or peanut butter and banana
Smoothie with protein powder or greek yogurt, berries, almond milk, and oat
Scrambled eggs with spinach and avocado
Whole grain toast Ham tomatoe and cheese
Even something small is better than skipping it, your body needs steady fuel to keep going.
Snack Smart
Let’s be real: some days, snacks are the meals.
That’s totally okay.
The goal is to choose snacks that actually support your energy, rather than just giving a quick sugar hit.
Quick grab-and-go options:
Mixed nuts or trail mix
Yogurt with granola
Apple slices with almond or peanut butter
Hard-boiled eggs or a handful of cheese cubes
Hummus with whole grain crackers or veggie sticks
Keep some near where you feed, rock, or change your baby. It helps more than you think.
Hydration = Energy + Focus
Even if you’re not breastfeeding, staying hydrated is still a major key to feeling well. Dehydration can leave you feeling foggy, moody, and even hungrier than you actually are.
I know how it feels to finally get your baby cozy in your arms, feeding peacefully... only to realise your water bottle is sitting across the room, completely out of reach.
The struggle is real!
So let’s set you up for hydration success with some mom-life hacks:
Hydration Tips:
Keep a big, spill-proof water bottle in every "mama zone" your bedside, the couch, the feeding chair, the diaper bag.
Infuse your water with lemon, cucumber, mint, or berries to make it feel a little more special (like your own mini wellness spa).
Herbal teas like peppermint, ginger, rooibos, or chamomile are great if you want something warm and cozy plus, many are naturally calming.
Coconut water or an electrolyte drink can help replenish minerals, especially on extra-hectic days.
Hydration is a small thing that makes a big difference in your energy, skin, digestion, and mood. So drink up, beautiful you deserve to feel good in your body.
Include Healthy Fats in Your Day
Healthy fats are essential for hormone balance, skin repair, brain function, and staying full between meals (which helps if you’re eating on the go).
Reach for:
Avocados
Olive oil (great for drizzling over toast, bowls, or veggies)
Fatty fish like salmon (or flax and chia seeds if you're plant-based)
Nuts and seeds
100% Nut butters
Healthy Fat isn’t the enemy it’s actually your postpartum power player.
Minimise Sugar Crashes (With Zero Guilt Attached)
We know sugar can be comforting when you’re tired and overwhelmed, and a little treat is never a bad thing. But those big sugar spikes and crashes can make the exhaustion even worse.
What helps:
Pairing sweets with protein or fiber (like chocolate + nuts, or fruit + yogurt)
Choosing naturally sweet snacks like dates, frozen berries, or smoothies
Being kind to yourself, perfection isn’t the goal, balance is
You’re doing a lot. It's okay to indulge now and then (yes, mama, enjoy that cookie!). Just balance it with whole foods that truly fuel you. When your blood sugar is steady, your energy and mood are too.
Gentle Meal Prep for the Win
No need to go full Pinterest meal-prep mode—but having a few staples ready can save your sanity. Think about foods that can mix and match throughout the week.
Helpful prep ideas:
Cooked grains (quinoa, brown rice, couscous)
Roasted veggies or sheet-pan meals
Washed salad greens
Pre-cooked proteins like shredded chicken, tofu, or beans
Simple soups or stews you can freeze in portions
Even prepping one thing ahead can make the rest of your week feel lighter.
Most Importantly: Give Yourself Grace
Some days you’ll eat real meals. Some days you’ll live on coffee and crackers. It’s okay.
You are healing, adapting, learning, and giving everything you have to your little one.
Please know that taking care of yourself, however imperfectly, is an act of love for you and your baby.
Celebrate the small wins:
You drank water today? Amazing.
You remembered to eat something green? Incredible.
You made it through the day? Superhuman.
You deserve to feel nourished, not depleted.
You were never meant to do this alone or run on empty.
Whether you’re 2 weeks or 2 months postpartum, you deserve to feel grounded, cared for, and supported.
The more you give to yourself, the more you have to give to the people you love.
Here’s to healing, fuelling, and finding your glow one snack, sip, and nap at a time.
